What this calculator does
A bedtime calculator subtracts your target sleep duration and time to fall asleep from your planned wake-up time to suggest when to get into bed. It is a planning estimate, not a clinical target.
Formula
Bedtime = Wake time − Sleep duration − Sleep latency
Worked example
Wake at 6:30 AM, sleep target 8 h, latency 15 min → get into bed by 10:15 PM.
Assumptions
- You are following a single-block nighttime sleep schedule.
- Target duration reflects your personal need.
Limitations
- Individual sleep needs vary by age, genetics, health and workload.
- Not a substitute for advice from a health professional.
